The customer focuses on RoHS-compliant export-grade smart smoke alarms, requiring strict component stability, batch consistency and temperature-humidity cycle reliability. Its original solution adopted through-hole 3-pin bobbin inductors with a dedicated dual-winding self-boost structure, which brought obvious production and quality drawbacks limiting overseas market expansion.

Traditional through-hole inductors rely on manual insertion and pin trimming, causing high labor costs, low throughput and inability to support large-volume overseas orders. Manually wound inductors feature large parameter deviations and poor batch consistency, leading to unstable failure rates and damaged overseas brand reputation. Besides, their bulky size limits product miniaturization and lightweight upgrading.

The smoke alarm boost circuit requires inductors to sustain a 250mA continuous operating current (reserved margin: Irms≥350mA) with a maximum height of 6.5mm. Ordinary 2-pin power inductors cannot replace the dedicated 3-pin self-boost structure, while standard SMT inductors fail to meet such customized precision requirements.
